As summer grows finish up, it's worth understanding exactly what you're feeding your plants and why. Every fertilizer label carries three numbers, N-P-K, and each one drives something different.

Here are 18 real organic amendments from our shelves, grouped by what they actually do.

Nitrogen (N)

Promotes leaf, stem growth, and green foliage. Great for the early vegetative stage, less important as plants shift toward flowering or fruiting.

Phosphorus (P)

Promotes root growth, flower development, and fruit set. This is what plants lean on most as they transition out of a leafy growth phase.

Potassium (K) & Micronutrients

Supports overall plant health, stress resistance, and aids in flower and fruit quality. Trace minerals and rock dusts round out what a plant needs beyond the big three.
